This music curriculum is a complete guide consisting of over two school-years’ worth of lessons plans that contain various types of activities that make learning music fun and interesting as well as educational. It consists of monthly topics that are broken down into weekly objectives. When all of the objectives, within the month, are met, the goal of fulfilling the requirements needed to learn the topic for that month is achieved.
This music instruction book, along with accompanying C.D., teaches the important elements needed to learn basic music. For the sake of clarity, it is broken up into four logical sections made up of specific lessons: Melody and Accompaniment, Rhythm, Creativity and History. Each lesson is followed by a review in the form of questions, music and listening exercises and puzzles. Each week a different lesson or parts of a lesson can be learned in one school year. If music instruction is only given one-half of a school year, then two lessons of sections I through III and parts of section IV can be learned per week.
This music instruction guide, along with accompanying C.D., is a continuation of The Quality Music Instruction Guide for Piano: Book I. It continues to teach the important elements needed to learn basic music beginning with a review of lessons one through three of The Quality Music Instruction Guide for Piano: Book I. For the sake of clarity, it is broken up into three logical sections: Theory and Practice (major and minor scales, key signatures and their relationship to one another), Advanced Creativity and History.
The Quality Music
The first half of the curriculum consists of hands on activities that pertain to each lesson in The Quality Music Instruction Guide for Piano: Book I. The topics of these lessons are comprised of melody and accompaniment, rhythm, music composition and music history. The second half of the curriculum contains lesson plans that correlate with the lessons in The Quality Music Instruction Guide for Piano: Book II. These lessons focus on theory and practice (major and minor scales/key signatures), music composition II (a higher level than that found in book I) and music history.
